This week’s senior athlete of the week is Alberto Jimenez. Alberto is the starting varsity offensive tackle for the Bombers football team. We sat down with Alberto and asked him a few questions on his high school football career, and what he plans on doing after high school.
We asked Alberto what has been his most memorable moment of his high school football career, and he said “The most memorable moment of football was last year when Graham Drone got injured and they put me on the field to finish off Griffith.” This was a very important moment for Alberto because this was the game where he sealed his starting spot on the varsity squad. This is a very memorable moment of his high school football career that he will never forget.
We then asked Alberto what he was planning to do after high school, he said “I’m going to go to Ivy Tech Community College to get my CDL certificate to drive semis.” CDL stands for Commercial Driver’s license. It includes the Department of Transportation 160-hour training to earn a CDL.
For our final question we asked him what he will miss about high school football and he said, “One thing I will miss about football is being with the team and making memories with all my boys.” Alberto is a great team captain and leader for our varsity football team. He leads our offensive line to make great blocks every game. Thank you Alburto for being a great student and athlete for the Rensselaer Bombers.
