The Jasper County Retired Teachers Association gave 2 grants to clubs at RCHS. The BAM Fam(Bomber Athletic Medicine Family) received $300 from the association to support their annual Teddy Bear Clinic. This was an event that was started last year, with the goal of being able to put this on each year. Kids were able to bring an injured stuffed animal to the doctor, and put them through surgery type procedures. Previously damaged stuff animals will leave looking new and intact once again. This is put on by members of the BAM Fam, and the money received will be used to buy supplies needed for the clinic.
The second check given was to BPA(Business Professionals of America) for $100. The money received from this grant will help send kids to their competitions. Students will participate in business related competitions at regionals, state, and potentially a national competition if they qualify. Our BPA members will compete at regionals on December 7th, state from March 9-11. Hopefully we’ll also be sending students to Orlando, Florida this year from May 7-11, to compete for national recognition.
Both clubs say thank you to the Jasper County Retired Teachers Association for their generous donations to these organizations.
