This year is the third annual Toys for Tots at RCHS! Toys for Tots is organized by Mrs. Hickman and the Bomb Squad. They will be collecting toy donations on December 14th at the Boys Basketball game. The boys will host Twin Lakes, and JV will start at 5pm, and varsity will start at 6:30pm. To donate, you bring an unopened, packaged toy. If you bring a toy as an adult, you get free entry to the game. If you’re a student, you get free entry into the game, and you get entered into a raffle. For each toy you bring, it’s an entry into the raffle.
The Toys for Tots program is operated by the Commander, Marine Forces Reserve. Different communities in all 50 states hold different campaigns to collect donations. Places in the community will find out and report the households with children in need. Once the donations are all collected, the gifts will be sorted and distributed, and each house will receive up to 4 wrapped presents.
Donating to Toys for Tots is a great way to serve your community. You are able to help kids in need get a Christmas present, which helps make their day special. The goal is to give disadvantaged children a message of hope. In all, donate a toy, and give a child hope on Christmas.
