Mrs. Young, the new study hall teacher at RCHS, was interviewed by Kaylynn Luttrell, student at RCHS. She was asked a series of seven questions. She answered with confidence, and we were very happy to get to know more about her!
The first question was “Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names?”, and to that she answered, “Two dogs, five cats, one rat, one bearded dragon, one rabbit, two fish, and one turtle. The names of the dogs are Lady and Cindy; the names of the cats are Milo, Mr. T, Max, Yeti, and Odie Mae; the rat’s name is Joey; the bearded dragon is Bailey; the rabbit is Baby Mackenzie; the two fish are Goldie and Lock; and the turtle is Little Ricky. The second question was “What is your favorite out of school hobby?”. Her response was “I enjoy going to the gun range with my family.”. She was next asked “What was your favorite part of summer?”, and she said “Going to the beach was my favorite; I love the beach!”. The next question was “What are you looking forward to most this school year?”, to which she answered “Building relationships with the staff and students is what I’m looking forward to most.” We asked her “What was your favorite subject in school?”. She said, “My favorites were definitely science and math, but science topped math for sure. I love all math except for geometry.”. We decided to ask her “If not a teacher, what is your dream career?”, and she answered “Owning my own micro farm is a dream!”. We were wondering, so we asked, “What is the best part of RCHS?”, and she said “The staff is the best part so far!”. The final question she was asked was “What made you want to teach here at Rensselaer?”, and her response was ““It feels more like home because of how welcome and appreciative the staff are.”
