Last weekend, on Saturday August 31st, the Rensselaer High School Cross Country team went to Hammond for the Hammond Morton Invite. Both the boys and girls varsity teams took the first place trophy in their respective races. The boys won with a total of 30 points with their scoring members containing Oden Van Hoose, Jack Boer, Holdyn Dutz, Ryder Woodke, and Gunner Van Hoose. The girls won with a total of 27 points with their scoring members including Brynleigh Cawby, Hope Hurley, Audrey Korniak, Annalise Yeager, and Addison Nesius.
Van Hoose took third with a time of 18:44, Boer took fifth with a time of 18:54, and Dutz took sixth with a time of 19:40. Cawby took first with a time of 22:55, Hurley took third with a time of 23:46, and Korniak took sixth with a time of 24:14. The next meet will take place at Harrison on Saturday, September 7th.
