This year will be our first look at the newest IHSAA sport, Girls Wrestling. Rensselaer has historically allowed girls to participate and have even competed at various Girls-only events.
So what has changed?
This year, the IHSAA will recognize Girls Wrestling as a sanctioned-sport, giving the sport the opportunity to have its own IHSAA State Tournament series. Previously, the Girls competed in an event sponsored by the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association.
Rensselaer has had 4 different girls place and 2 to qualify for the IHSGW tournament. Two of those girls will be returning for the 2024-2025 season, Delaney Koebcke (4th) and Kylie Spencer (SQ). Rensselaer is hoping to continue to grow the girls program with it being the newest IHSAA sport
