Starting this most recent spring RCHS welcomed Kariel Hoagland as our new Athletic Trainer! Kariel is very excited to be here, and I quote “I am proud to work alongside this dedicated and caring staff.” She enjoys working through Fransiscan as well as Rensselaer because of the “… very skilled and communicative coaches and staff.”
Kariel originally went to the University of Indianapolis with plans to become a Physical Therapist, and after her freshman year in track and field she grew an interest in group fitness and started teaching classes. She then completed her program in AT and went on to study Clinical Exercise Physiology at IU Bloomington.
Her first career position out of school was as a fitness coordinator at Florida Southern College. From there she came back to Lafayette and worked at Lafayette Rehabilitation Services for several years before taking a job at her first High School, West Lafayette. Kariel has worked in many different fields and settings including hospitals, industrial, doctors offices, collegiate, and now back to the high school setting.
Kariel has now landed here at our very own Rensselaer Central High School where she is paired up with Franciscan Health. We are very excited to be working with her and to have someone so passionate about taking care of our athletes. If you see her around say Hi and welcome her!
