As the fall sports season comes to an end, a new and colder season starts with an array of different sports like Cheerleading. The cheer team is close to finishing their fall season with football sectionals coming soon and they are now getting ready for the new season with a few new teammates. The winter season is the second season for cheerleading and comes with many new experiences for the girls. The coaches for the Rensselaer High School cheerleading team are head coach Natalie Herre and assistant coach Kali Gastineau. Natalie has been the head coach for four years and Kali has been the assistant coach for two years. The captains of the cheerleading squad are Mallory Klingler and Aleesha Walton.
The winter cheerleading tryouts were on October 22 through 24, and the girls are now getting ready with a few new teammates to cheer at the first basketball game on November 26 at KV. The cheer squad has been helping the new girls get comfortable cheering and teaching them all the chants and cheers they need for their first game. The cheerleading squad is ready to get out there and cheer on our basketball team for a great season!
The cheerleading team has been conditioning for a few weeks now to perform stunts for basketball season. Since they will be indoors cheering, they will be able to perform many new stunts for everyone to see. The new girls are going to be a great addition to the cheer team when they stunt. The bomber cheerleaders are practicing hard to be able to show off their new stunts for this winter season!
Cheerleading is very important to Rensselaer High School. They get students and crowds involved during games to support our team. The cheerleaders are ready to support our basketball team to a very successful winter season!
